4 Health Screenings Coming To Sayreville Senior Center: What To Know

SAYREVILLE — Residents interested in learning more about certain stroke and cardiovascular disease risks will have an opportunity to undergo four health screenings in Sayreville this fall.
Life Line Screening will hold an event on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Sayreville Senior Center, located at 423 Main Street.
The event is being promoted to adults age 40 and older. A package containing four screenings will be available for $129.
Which Screenings Are Included?
The package includes screenings for:
- Carotid artery disease
- Atrial fibrillation
- Peripheral arterial disease
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm
Life Line Screening says its heart and stroke risk package uses ultrasound and other screening methods to examine the carotid arteries, peripheral arteries and abdominal aorta and to check for atrial fibrillation. Additional information about the screenings is available through Life Line Screening.

What Residents Should Understand
The screenings do not test for every cardiovascular condition or identify every possible risk factor.
According to Life Line Screening, the tests examine arteries in the neck, legs and abdomen but do not screen the coronary arteries. The company advises people who receive abnormal results to discuss possible next steps with their healthcare provider.
The screenings should not be treated as a replacement for regular medical care or advice from a physician.
