Now Open To The Public: Sayreville VFW Post 4699 Set For Expanded Hours

SAYREVILLE, NJ — Sayreville VFW Post 4699 wants residents to know they do not need a membership to stop by. The post is open to the public, with cornhole leagues, football season on its radar and an effort underway to organize a pool league.

“It’s open to the public,” Katie Vardalis, speaking on behalf of the post, said in a message to The Sayreville Insider.

Located at 575 Jernee Mill Road, the post is looking to attract more visitors and become a regular gathering place for residents.

“We’re just trying to get more business and a steady following,” Vardalis said.

Football, Cornhole And Plans For Pool

Vardalis pointed to football season and the post’s existing cornhole leagues when discussing what visitors can expect. An organized activity will not be scheduled every day, she said.

“We won’t have something every single day,” Vardalis said.

The post is also working to put together a pool league, though no start date or schedule has been announced.

“We are trying to get a pool league together,” Vardalis said.

When To Stop By

The post opens at:

• Monday through Friday: 4 p.m.
• Saturday: 5 p.m.
• Sunday: Noon

Food service could become part of the offerings in the future, but the post is not serving food yet.

“Hopefully we will start serving food eventually also but not yet,” Vardalis said.
