Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Miss Out On Family Night At Kennedy Park In Sayreville

SAYREVILLE, NJ — Families looking for something to do Wednesday evening can enjoy classic cars, food trucks and an outdoor showing of Disney’s Cars during a community event at Kennedy Park.
The Sayreville Cultural Arts Committee and the Sayreville Recreation Department have partnered to host the event, which begins at 5 p.m. with a classic car show in the upper section of the park.
According to Cultural Arts Committee member Sharon Pawelczyk Rodas, the event is designed to offer activities for all ages before the movie begins later in the evening.
“We work together very closely and came up with a winning duo of an event,” Pawelczyk Rodas said.
The classic car show will feature a DJ, as well as awards and trophies for participating vehicles.
Beginning around 7:30 p.m., the lower section of the park near the pond will feature food vendors and family activities, including face painting and bracelet and jewelry making.
Food options are expected to include:
- Two food trucks
- A specialty flavored lemonade truck
- A gourmet popcorn truck
- An ice cream truck
Families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs before the movie begins.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., Disney’s Cars will be shown as part of the film’s 20th anniversary.
“It’s just a real feel-good movie and a real good night event,” Pawelczyk Rodas said.
Parking will be available at the Kennedy Park Boathouse parking lot or across the street at Sayreville War Memorial High School.
The event is presented by the Sayreville Cultural Arts Committee in partnership with the Sayreville Recreation Department.
