Sayreville Historical Society to Debut “The Story of Sayreville” on Feb. 27
SAYREVILLE, NJ — The Sayreville Historical Society will premiere its new documentary, The Story of Sayreville, on February 27, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Active Adult Center, 423 Main Street. The event is free and open to the public.
The one-hour film is based on the book by local author and historian John Schneider. It traces Sayreville’s development through its clay industry, brickmaking history, waterways, immigration, and wartime contributions.
According to the Historical Society, the documentary connects the borough’s local history to broader national events and trends.
Attendees will be able to take photos with Revolutionary War–era costumes and period props. A themed backdrop will be available before and after the screening.
Schneider will attend the event and sign copies of his books, including The Story of Sayreville: The Town Built With Bricks. Copies will be available for purchase on-site.
