Sayreville Storm 2017 Team Defeats Striking Eagles, 4–2

SAYREVILLE, NJ — The Sayreville Storm 2017 soccer team earned a hard-fought 4–2 victory over the Peninsula Striking Eagles on Sunday, showcasing teamwork and resilience on both ends of the field.

Evelyn Parlagreco led the offense with two goals and two assists, while Chelsea Craig also scored twice and assisted on two others. Together, the duo provided the offensive spark that helped the Storm pull ahead early and maintain their lead throughout the match.

The Storm’s defense anchored the win with consistent pressure and strong positioning. Nora Fazzini, Khloe Lozano, Margaux Venittelli, and Zaylee Buhler each turned in standout performances, repeatedly stopping the Striking Eagles’ advances.

At midfield, Lacey Humphrey helped drive the attack, making key plays that set up several of the team’s scoring opportunities. “Lacey made great passes through the middle to open up the field,” the coaching staff said.

Goalkeepers Quorra Weber and Valentina Cabral also played a crucial role in the win, making several important saves to keep the Storm in control of the match.

“The Sayreville Storm played like a team this Sunday,” said Coaches Mike, Megan, and Sal. “They made great passes, communicated well, and worked together to defeat the Striking Eagles. We are proud of their efforts and hope to keep this momentum going for the last game of our season.”

The Storm will close out their season next week and look to carry their recent success into the final matchup.
