The Friend You Call Before A Vacation: How Rebecca Miller Found Her Next Chapter In Sayreville

For Rebecca Miller, planning a trip is not simply about reservations. It is about helping families spend less time worrying about the details and more time being together.

Rebecca Miller’s in-laws had not visited Walt Disney World since 2000.

More than two decades later, they returned for an extended family vacation following Miller’s wedding. The parks had changed, the planning process had become more complicated and there was a lot to navigate.

Miller took care of the details, from dining plans and Lightning Lane selections to helping her family find its way through the parks.

What stayed with her was not the itinerary itself. It was seeing how much more her family could enjoy the experience because someone else had already thought through it.

“They still can’t believe to this day how easy the trip was knowing it was all taken care of,” Miller said.

That family vacation helped Miller see something in herself that the people around her may have already recognized.

“Giving them a fantastic experience is what fueled this venture for me,” she said.

She Was Already The Person People Called

Before becoming an independent travel consultant with Mickey World Travel, Miller was often the friend people contacted when they were planning a trip.

“I’ve sort of always been the friend that people would go to and ask, ‘Hey, I’m going to ______. Where should we eat dinner? What should we do?’” Miller said.

Some people enjoy taking a vacation. Miller also enjoys understanding how all its pieces fit together.

There are hotels to compare, transportation options to consider and restaurants that may need to be reserved well before anyone packs a suitcase. For a family visiting a destination for the first time—or returning after many years—the number of decisions can make an exciting trip feel like another responsibility.

Miller found that she enjoyed sorting through those details and making them easier for someone else to understand.

She eventually joined Mickey World Travel, a family-owned agency founded by Ron and Janice Hayeck. The agency began through its founders’ interest in Disney and now works with consultants around the country on Disney destinations, cruises, all-inclusive resorts and other vacations.

Helping A Family Feel Ready

One of Miller’s clients was planning a family vacation to Disney World. It would be the children’s first visit, while their mother had not been there in more than 20 years.

Rather than simply providing a reservation, Miller created a personalized guide to help the family understand what the trip could look like.

It included hotel recommendations, photographs, videos, restaurant suggestions, menu links, official Disney information and packing lists.

The guide was meant to answer questions before they became worries.

“I believe that me doing the research for them can make the client feel at ease and less overwhelmed,” Miller said.

That sense of relief is central to how Miller approaches travel planning.

“Ultimately, I want to make the client’s trip as easy as possible with zero stress,” she said.

A New Home In Sayreville

Miller’s travel business is developing alongside a new chapter in her personal life.

“My husband and I just moved to Sayreville a little over a year ago, and we absolutely love it here,” she said.

The couple are members of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where their marriage was recently blessed.

For residents who meet Miller through the community, her role as a travel consultant may feel like a natural extension of who she has long been: the person willing to research the choices, answer the questions and help make an unfamiliar experience feel manageable.

What Working With Rebecca Looks Like

Miller assists with Disney and Universal vacations, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, family trips and couples’ getaways.

Depending on the vacation, her work may include hotel reservations, theme park tickets, dining recommendations and reservations, and transportation between the airport and a Disney resort. She does not book airfare.

Clients do not pay Miller a separate fee for her planning services. For qualifying reservations, the travel provider pays a commission to Mickey World Travel, which then compensates her. Travelers remain responsible for the cost of their vacation and related purchases.

It is a business arrangement, but the value Miller describes is personal: helping someone move from Where do I even begin? to feeling ready for the trip ahead.

Because years later, families may not remember who made each reservation or when every detail was confirmed.

They are more likely to remember how it felt to be there together.
