When thousands of residents gather for Sayreville’s annual Fourth of July celebration later this month, few may realize that the fireworks lighting up the sky will be coming from a company owned by one of the town’s own.

Frank Terzino Jr., a 2000 graduate of Sayreville War Memorial High School, will be returning to his hometown as the owner of PyroStar Entertainment, the company producing this year’s fireworks display.

For Terzino, it’s more than just another show.

According to family members, one of his childhood dreams was to put on professional fireworks displays. After moving to North Carolina, he began pursuing that goal and eventually turned it into a business alongside his wife, Tori.

Now, years later, that journey has brought him back to the community where it all started.

Terzino was active in both football and wrestling during his time at Sayreville High School. He was also a member of the 1997 Bomber football team that captured the school’s first championship since 1947.

His company, PyroStar Entertainment, now produces fireworks shows throughout the region. But for a former Sayreville resident who once dreamed about creating fireworks displays, having the opportunity to provide the show for his hometown’s Independence Day celebration marks a full-circle moment.

Sayreville’s Fourth of July celebration is scheduled for Friday, June 27.
